A workshop for the newly established open reflectivity standards organisation (ORSO) will bookend the conference.

Workshop: An Introduction to surface x-ray and neutron scattering techniques
On Monday 22nd June a one-day introductory workshop will be held in Lund by LINXS (Lund Institute of Advanced Neutron and X-ray Science) in conjunction with SXNS16. The workshop is aimed at students and scientists new to the surface x-ray and neutron scattering techniques covered by the SXNS16 conference.
The workshop will include a series of introductory lectures providing a technical grounding in key surface scattering techniques: reflectometry, grazing incidence small angle scattering and surface diffraction.
Registration is separate from the main conference and numbers will be limited. Preference will be given to students and to attendees of SXNS16, but the event is open to all interested students and researchers.
Further details will soon be available from the LINXS website
